How they do that?: Employee Reboot Quickbooks

This guide is to provide information on how to reboot a windows desktop via AnyDesk and after reboot run Database Manager to make sure the file is ready.
Before starting the process to reboot ensure all users and computers have closed QuickBooks and there is no one connected to the QuickBoks server, after everyone is disconnected, per QuickBooks Support, people should be able to get back in. If you are not able to get in and go to Multi User Mode again ensure anyone who tried to reconnect has closed and proceed with the reboot.

DO NOT INTERRUPT POWER TO THE SERVER AT ANY TIME IN THIS PROCESS
Improper power loss can result in database corruption and data loss. This may be unrecoverable.

1. Open AnyDesk



2. Put in the Remote ID of the server then click the arrow to connect


3. Enter the password for AnyDesk and press OK


3.5 If not logged in to desktop login as Admin


4. Click on the start menu then the power button then restart

DO NOT PRESS SHUT DOWN
If you shutdown the system will have to be started by a technician.

5. Allow the server 5-10 minutes to restart

Do not press anything on the physical server as it may prevent proper startup.

6. Reconnect to AnyDesk as done in steps 1-3

Including logging into the Desktop as admin.

7. Open the Start Menu and Search for Server. Open QuickBooks Database Server Manager.


8. Click on Yes at the UAC Prompt to allow administrative access.


9. Click on Start Scan


10. Click OK


11. It should end at Repair Successful

If not "Repair Successful" STOP.
Contact a technician for assistance.
You can now close the QuickBooks Database Server Manager

12. Close AnyDesk and open QuickBooks as usual

Only one user should connect right after this process. Open your company file and login as needed, after login make sure you are in multi user mode. Then instruct others to connect.
